Historical professional listings associate Curt Dewitz with business development at Cytocom and corporate strategy at Statera Biopharma. Original company filings explain how those names fit together, including a July 2021 merger and a September 2021 name change.
The business background behind the names
Curt Dewitz’s professional background includes business development and corporate strategy in biotechnology. The Org’s Cytocom directory lists him as Director of Business Development. Bloomberg’s Statera profile identifies a corporate-strategy vice presidency. These historical role references provide a starting point for understanding the organizations associated with his background.
Cytocom and Statera also appear in a connected company history. Reading their original announcements alongside the role listings makes that relationship clearer. The dates below describe company events; they do not establish Curt’s employment dates or assign him personal responsibility for the transactions.
July 2021: the merger and the Cytocom name
The company’s July 2021 Form 8-K records completion of the Cleveland BioLabs–Cytocom merger on July 27. At closing, the public company previously known as Cleveland BioLabs changed its name to Cytocom, Inc.
The filing makes a second distinction that is easy to miss: the formerly private Cytocom became Cytocom Subsidiary Inc. and continued as a wholly owned subsidiary. A document’s reference to “Cytocom” therefore needs its date and company context to be read accurately.
Nasdaq’s contemporaneous corporate-action notice confirms the business combination and records July 28 as the marketplace effective date of the name change. The share symbol remained CBLI at that point. The closing date and marketplace effective date describe different steps in the same sequence.
September 2021: the Statera name
On August 31, the company announced its plan to adopt the Statera Biopharma name. It explained that Statera was selected from the Latin word for balance, as part of its corporate identity.
The September 1 Form 8-K then confirmed that the public company’s legal name had changed from Cytocom, Inc. to Statera Biopharma, Inc. Its shares also began trading under the STAB symbol that day. The announcement and the completed legal change belong to separate dates.
