The Curt Dewitz Scholarship offers one $1,000 award annually, with no essay required. The next deadline is March 15, 2027. Applications are not yet open; the official program site will publish the submission instructions.
What does the scholarship offer?
The Curt Dewitz Scholarship is an annual $1,000 award for one eligible student in the United States studying at an accredited college or university. A different student receives the award each year. There is no essay, application fee, purchase, or donation requirement.
This guide explains how to read the program’s requirements and prepare for the next cycle. The official scholarship website remains the source for application instructions and program updates. As of October 19, 2026, applications are not being collected.
Which academic pathway applies to you?
Alongside current enrollment at an accredited college or university and being in the United States, applicants must meet one of two academic requirements:
- Recent semesters: a GPA of at least 3.0 in each of the past two semesters.
- Previous degree: a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 from a previous degree.
The semester pathway looks at each semester separately. For example, a 3.2 in one semester and a 2.8 in the other would not meet that pathway simply because their average is 3.0. The previous-degree pathway concerns the cumulative result for that degree; it does not remove the current-enrollment requirement.
If your academic record uses a different grading scale or term structure, wait for the administrator’s document and verification instructions. This guide does not establish a grade-conversion formula. Review the full eligibility page before relying on the optional browser self-check.
What happens between the deadline and announcement?
The application deadline is March 15, 2027, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time. The recipient announcement is scheduled for March 30, 2027, after eligibility and acceptance are confirmed.
Complete applications will be checked against the published criteria. Each verified eligible applicant receives one entry in a random drawing. A GPA above the minimum provides no extra entries, and duplicate submissions do not improve a student’s chances. Previous recipients cannot receive another award.
The selected applicant has 72 hours from notification to respond and accept. If that person declines, does not respond, or cannot verify eligibility, an alternate will be contacted. If confirmation is still underway on March 30, the program will post an update. The published selection process explains these steps.
What can you do before applications open?
Start by identifying your academic pathway and checking your college’s accreditation. Add the deadline and announcement date to your calendar, and bookmark the official application page.
You can locate your academic records for your own reference, but the required documents and submission channel have not yet been published. Do not send transcripts or other personal information through an unofficial form or social-media message. The application page will provide the destination, administrator contact, document requirements, payment information, and application privacy details before submissions begin.
There is no essay to draft. The useful preparation now is to understand the criteria and return to the official application page for the confirmed process. This article and the self-check do not constitute an application or an eligibility decision.
